Hey, I’m a Computer Science student and the developer behind StatSolver. I built this site because I wanted a calculator that solves problems I had in class. I needed it to be easy to use, saves your history, and explains the math step-by-step.
The logic behind these calculators comes directly from my coursework in Stochastic Computing. During my Stochastic Computing course, I had a project analyzing software reliability, and the hardest part was understanding the math and trying to create algorithms that were accurate when making complex calculations. I spent a lot of time just trying to wrap my head around the calculations. I had to manually break down every formula, from Marginal Distributions to Covariance, just to make sense of what was actually happening.
I realized that if I was spending this much time just trying to understand the formulas, other students probably were too. So, I decided to put everything I learned into one website. I took the calculations and algorithms used in my class project and built them directly into this tool. The goal is to give you the formulas you need in one place, with the guidance to help you actually understand them.
This is an open project built for students. If you find a bug or have a suggestion, I would love to hear
from you.
