About StatSolver

StatSolver is a free probability learning resource built to make discrete-distribution questions easier to understand, check, and explain.

Who built it

My name is Mustafa Akilli, and I am a Computer Science student and the developer behind StatSolver. The project grew out of coursework involving stochastic computing, software reliability, and the practical challenge of translating formulas into reliable interactive code.

I built the site as an open educational resource for students who want to see the assumptions, intermediate values, and meaning behind a probability result.

What the site covers

StatSolver currently focuses on Bernoulli, Binomial, Geometric, Poisson, and discrete Joint distributions. The calculators run in the browser, explain their input requirements, and connect to longer guides with worked examples and limitations.

The site is intentionally focused. It is not a general-purpose statistical package, a data-storage service, or a substitute for an instructor, textbook, or professional review.

How it is maintained

Formula behavior is checked with regression examples and edge cases. Content is reviewed for arithmetic consistency, clear model assumptions, and useful links between related distributions. The Methodology & accuracy page describes the current scope and checks in more detail.

Contact and corrections

If you find a calculation issue, unclear explanation, accessibility problem, or broken link, please send the page URL and a short description to statsolverit@gmail.com. Feedback helps prioritize corrections and future calculators.
